I’ve spent years helping people and organizations integrate meditation, wellness, and professional development.
Every once in a while, someone objects that this cheapens the spiritual depth of these traditions. Or that it’s somehow “selling out.”
But I know that workplace interventions can bring great benefits. Not only for individuals, but for organizations, and for families and communities. Some people go on to deepen a personal practice that can transform their entire life (and those they love).
But this one definitely goes too far!
Amazon is being roasted for sharing a video of its “AmaZen,” a phonebooth-sized box where employees can go to “focus on their mental wellbeing” and learn about mindfulness.
Amazon’s leadership could use some Centering for Wisdom.
A daily centering practice isn’t a band-aid… It isn’t just another thing on the to-do list… It isn’t something we do to cope or just get by.
Most importantly for us as leaders… It’s NOT something we offer to employees if we’re not willing to address the underlying causes of their anxiety, overhwelm, or burnout.
That’s the problem with the Amazen “box of despair”!
It’s offered without addressing the wholeness of the person… without recognizing the dignity of the workers in their warehouses… without addressing JUSTICE and human dignity.
Centering for Wisdom is for leaders who want to address – and eliminate – the root causes of stress, overwhelm, burnout, and injustice.
It starts by wanting relief for yourself. But also for the people you lead, for your organization or business, for your family, and for your community.
Contemplation not an escape from reality.
It leads to genuine service to others – ultimately to love and to justice… to doing what is right for your employees and your community
If that’s the kind of leadership you believe in and strive for, then Centering for Wisdom is for you.
It’s especially for you if you’re finding it hard to access your inner core of goodness, wisdom, and courage. If all the stress and distractions of leading in our busy world leaves you without the energy to innovate and serve with courage.
If you find yourself struggling to be that force for good and healing in the world (but you know it’s in you), then I want to invite you to book a Breakthrough Session.
It’s normal to struggle with overwhelm, anxiety, or burnout. Or to feel like you have ideas that could truly benefit others that you’re not able to develop.
But that doesn’t mean you have to stay there. And it doesn’t have to last for the rest of your career…or your life.
I’ve helped thousands of leaders to…
- Get out of where they’re stuck in overwhelm
- Develop a simple, centering practice – that anyone can learn
- Fit the practice into a busy schedule (with career, family, responsibilities…and FUN)
- Find deep and lasting healing from stress and anxiety (and even trauma)
- Develop an intimate relationship with God, or a Higher Power
- Discover their true purpose as a leader (and as a person)
- Live aligned with that higher purpose for the rest of their life
There is help available. But nothing will change unless you take action.
A simple act of loving-kindness you can do for yourself (and others) right now is book your free Breakthrough Session.
Most people talk about making a change…but sadly never do it. It’s so easy to get caught up in the daily grind, and then look back with regret. Will that be you? Or are you going to be the person who takes action?
Can I help you? Honestly, I don’t know. That’s why I created the Breakthrough Session. So we can get clarity on what you need, and create a plan for the next step.
But I do know that if you do nothing, then nothing will change. And I do know that for those who book their session, some of them show up ready for a breakthrough.
And some of those people experience transformation beyond what they could have dreamed…
There are people out there thriving, innovating, and serving – even in these challenging times. But they’re not doing it alone. They have good mentoring, supportive community, and help from Something-Bigger-than-Themselves.
Let’s talk and see if you’re cut out to lead with Centering for Wisdom.
Talk to you soon,
Tom
P.S. If you work for Amazon, then let’s definitely talk! We can do better than the Amazen box of despair.
P.S.S. Even if you don’t work for Amazon, let’s explore what the next stage of your leadership holds for you. With the right mentoring and support, it can be an exciting journey. And it is my deepest joy and passion to walk this journey with leaders just like you! https://thomasjbushlack.com/apply
